Malaysia Airlines will resume services to Brisbane, Australia before the year's end.

Announced by Brisbane Airport, Malaysia Airlines will operate five weekly flights (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) between Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane from November 29.  Using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, the direct flights will provide a capacity of 75,000 inbound seats to Brisbane – the capital of Australia's state of Queensland.

Kuala Lumpur will be the 33rd destination on Brisbane Airport's international network.

Malaysia Airlines previously suspended its Kuala Lumpur-Brisbane service in March 2023 citing “increased global economic challenges.”

“We are thrilled to reinstate our services to Brisbane, reconnecting Malaysia and Queensland and expanding our presence in Australia,” said Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG). “As the national carrier, this route reaffirms our commitment to connecting travellers seamlessly across our extensive network through Kuala Lumpur – positioning Malaysia Airlines as the Gateway to Asia and Beyond.”

Brisbane will be Malaysia Airlines' fifth destination in Australia. The airline currently operates flights to Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney.
